Once your GoFundAfrica starts receiving online donations, you can easily request a withdrawal any time you reach your threshold. Withdrawing money does not affect the progress meter displayed on your campaign. Once you reach your threshold the  ‘Withdraw’ button will automatically display while logged into your account, just click it and follow the instructions. You can withdraw your balance directly to your bank account. Bank transfers take 4-10 business days to arrive.

No, never. With GoFundAfrica, there are no deadlines or time limits. Your campaign will remain live until it reaches its goal or you choose it to remain active until you turn off donations or remove the campaign altogether. Most organizers leave their campaigns active indefinitely to refer back to the kind comments and support they received.

No problem. Reaching your goal is not required. With GoFundAfrica, you keep each and every donation you receive. Your campaign will be able to accept donations even after your goal is reached. Once the goal is reached, the progress meter on your campaign will show that you have received more than your goal amount. If you’d like to continue raising money, you can keep your campaign running for as long as you’d like.

Absolutely. With GoFundAfrica, organizers can easily raise money for you and even make sure that donations go directly to your bank account.

GoFundAfrica gets your funds to you quickly because we know that many fundraising needs are time-sensitive. You can set up withdrawals and add your bank account as soon as you accept the campaign organizer’s invitation to make you a beneficiary. Bank transfers then take 3-6 business days to arrive.

Making a Donation

If your donation is rejected, we haven’t been able to take your payment and you’ve not been charged.

We’ll let you know if your donation has been rejected once you’ve entered your details and completed the Verified by Visa step. We’ll also send you an email explaining that you’ll need to try again. 

Here are some things that might help prevent this from happening a second time:

Check your card details carefully

Make sure you’ve entered your 16 digit card number and expiry date correctly.

If you reached an error message while donating or you’re having trouble completing the ‘Verified by Visa’ or ‘MasterCard SecureCode’ stage, there are a few things you can try: 

Clear your browsing history and cookies

Your browsing history is a list of the websites you’ve visited, a cookie is a file stored on your computer telling us who you are. Clearing your browsing history and cookies removes any error loops that may be stuck in your browser.

To clear this data when using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox please hold down Ctrl + shift + Delete at the same time, please do not have JustGiving open at all when you do this. This will open a window prompting you to ‘Delete’, ‘Clear Browsing Data’ or ‘Clear Now’. Please clear your history, cookies and cache, and make sure you clear your entire history rather than just from the past hour or day.

If you’re using a Mac, to clear your website data please follow these steps:
1. Open Safari on any website aside from JustGiving
2. Click ‘Safari’, this is in the top left hand corner
3. Select ‘Reset safari’
4. Please tick ‘Clear history’, ‘Remove all website data’ and ‘Close all Safari windows’ and press ‘Reset’

You can donate from anywhere in the world in one of nine currencies, as long as you have a credit or debit card.

Remember that we’re online only. It’s not possible to donate over the phone or send a cheque to GoFund Africa.
